Guidelines for Presentation Proposals

On behalf of the SustainaBUILD Planning Committee, outlined below are guidelines for Presentation Proposals to be reviewed by the Planning Committee for potential inclusion in the 2012 SustainaBUILD Conference Education Program. SustainaBUILD Conference is western Canada's premier conference focusing on design, construction and management of sustainable buildings and communities of all types.

Criteria for submissions:

  1. Title (this will likely be used in promotional materials if the seminar is chosen. Consider a title that will catch an audience's attention)
  2. Presentation Synopsis: 4 - 5 sentence synopsis of the proposed presentation.
  3. Learning Objectives: Identify the learning objectives to be achieved at the end of the seminar
  4. Learning Devices/Tools: Indicate if a PowerPoint presentation or other alternative audiovisual learning devices will be used. (PowerPoint presentations are not mandatory but research indicates delegates prefer them)
  5. Speaker name(s), photo(s), full contact information and brief biographies, including two references per speaker. (This is not mandatory for the deadline date below yet will be required once seminars have been approved)
  6. Most importantly: Conference seminars will be valid towards continuing education credits for various organizations. It is imperative that seminars contain quality education focused content and are not used as an opportunity to promote services and/or products. Proposals having a promotional angle will not be considered.

If you are interested in speaking at SustainaBUILD Calgary 2012, please submit proposal by February 17, 2012 to Lucy Leng at . If you have any questions please call 403.290.1080 ext. 192063. We will contact only those who have provided submissions chosen for inclusion.
